Our Staff

Therapist StaffCooper Kids’ Occupational, Physical and Speech therapists utilize a combined style of NDT and sensory integration incorporated into a broad DIR foundation-building model.  Our therapists establish an emotional foundation with the child so that the child feels loved and cared for. By establishing this foundation, communication and play feel good and then the child wants to interact and participate in therapeutic play with their therapist. There is no single therapy or intervention program. Our approach depends upon the child’s needs, the therapists’ strategy and the context of the interaction between child and therapist. In addition to traditional clinical applications we also offer Hand Writing without Tears, Therapeutic listening and Interactive Metronome treatment tools as well.

The content of language and communication instruction is similar for all children. However, the problems and the strategies will differ to match each child’s unique combination of skills and deficits. The speech and language pathologists that comprise our speech department are all classically trained in oral motor and feeding interventions. In addition, we also have “PROMPT” and NDT trained individuals. This enables us create an individualized program to expand your child’s effective communication skills.

For the child receiving more than one discipline we maintain close communication between therapists asserting a true team approach in our clinical applications. Our entire staff at Coopers Kids is dedicated to ongoing training and continuing education in order to maintain skills and to incorporate the latest tools and techniques into our existing high quality of pediatric therapy services.
